Perigord Basket immersion class for advanced makers

Over three days you will learn how to create the beautiful spiral French Perigord basket (bouyricou), a traditional basket used in horticulture from the Perigord and Dordogne regions in France. The basket is made entirely from willow.
]Day one involves getting accustomed to the overlocking plaited weave and how to hold and shape the basket, focusing on the base.
You will then make your basket over days 2 & 3.
Making this basket requires strength, dexterity and determination. Leah was taught in the Perigord technique by Corentin Laval, Barie, France.
Please bring secateurs, large bodkins and a knife if you have them.
