What’s on the menu:
Chilled Beetroot Soup (Chlodnik) – A refreshing, vibrant pink cold soup popular through Poland. It features a creamy, tangy base of kefir and sour cream combined with young beets, fresh dill, cucumbers, and radishes, and is traditionally served with a halved hard-boiled egg.
Chicken Krokiety (Krokiety z kurczakiem) – Savory Stuffed Pastry. Baked pastry filled with a flavorful savory filling.
Polish Apple Cake (Szarlotka) – One of the most popular desserts in Polish homes, Szarlotka is known for its tender, crumbly crust and sweet-tart apple filling. Made by pressing a rich, buttery shortcrust pastry into a pan, layering it with cinnamon-spiced apples, and topping it with more crumbled dough. This will be sampled but not made during class due to time constraints.
This is an interactive demonstration class where you’ll gain experience with each component of the dishes, with a focus on traditional techniques, flavor development, and timing.
By the end of the class, you’ll walk away with new skills, a deeper appreciation for Polish cuisine, and the confidence to recreate these comforting dishes at home.
Everyone will receive a booklet with information from the class and a 10% off coupon to use at the Nibblins store.
