Join Vice Mayor Karina Talamantes, The Sacramento Tree Foundation and the City of Sacramento's Department of Youth Parks and Community Enrichment (YPCE) for a fun and rewarding morning of park beautification.Volunteers will plant, stake and spread mulch to approximately 20 new trees. The planting holes will be pre-dug and backfilled, making them easy to clear and ready for planting.
No tree-planting experience is necessary! We'll provide an informative demonstration on proper planting techniques and safety. practices.
Trees and stakes are provided through a generous partnership between SMUD and The Sacramento Tree Foundation.
All tools will be provided by YPCE.
What to bring: Work gloves, closed toe shoes, weather appropriate clothing you don't mind getting dirty, refillable water bottles, and community spirit!
