About this Event
Join us at Stockroom for a screening of the People's Emergency Briefing, a compelling 50-minute film featuring leading UK scientists and experts sharing the latest evidence on the climate and nature emergency.
The briefing explores how climate change and nature loss are affecting our everyday lives, communities and areas. Featuring contributions from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden and other experts, the film provides an accessible overview of some of the most significant challenges shaping our future, including:
- Extreme weather and its impact on communities
- Food security and access to affordable, healthy food
- Health, wellbeing and resilience
- The cost of living and economic challenges
- Energy, infrastructure and national security
- How communities can respond and adapt to a changing world
As part of the lead-up to Stockport's sixth Climate and Nature Summit, this free community screening offers an opportunity to learn more about the challenges we face, connect with others, and explore how local people can help build a more resilient future for Stockport.
Following the screening, there will be a facilitated discussion led by Stockport Council's Climate and Nature Team, providing space to reflect on the film, share local perspectives, and discuss practical actions that can strengthen community resilience.
Whether you're part of a community group, interested in climate and nature, or simply curious about what these issues mean for Stockport, you're welcome to join the conversation.
