About this Event
NB: Please choose one of the four dates available that suits you. The core session repeats on all four dates so you can attend whichever fits your schedule. Go home, try out what you've learned and if you get stuck, come back to another session for a refresher.
Finished your book? Halfway through? Just about to start?
Whichever stage you're at this self-publishing workshop will guide you step-by-step through the process.
Learn how to navigate the self-publishing landscape with confidence and avoid the pitfalls new authors face.
There will be a surgery for the last 30 minutes of each session so you can get personalised help and advice.
These workshops aim to:
- Equip authors with a clear understanding of the self-publishing process
- Look more in-depth at Amazon KDP (other platforms will be briefly mentioned)
- Help participants understand editing, formatting, cover design, and ISBN requirements
- Provide practical guidance on marketing
- Enable attendees to leave with a structured action plan for publishing their book

The National Year of Reading 2026 is a UK-wide campaign designed to inspire people to make reading a regular part of their lives.
We all understand the benefits of reading and how it expands our minds, builds confidence and fuels creativity, yet fewer people are doing it. With growing distractions and limited time, reading for pleasure is declining across many groups.
This national campaign aims to change this by reconnecting reading with everyday culture. It is not about guilt or obligation, it is about showing that stories, ideas and imagination have a place in everyone’s daily life. Click here to find out more!
