About this Event
The event takes place on the last Thursday of every month (6.00-7.45pm) in the relaxed atmosphere of Arcade Coffee and Food (Byram Arcade, Huddersfield). These themed drawing events are designed to let you flex your artistic muscle and doodle alongside like-minded types. During the evening, pick up tips from our resident artist, share your own tricks and take place in communal art projects. There are also a few sketching games to enter during the evening. Friendly and relaxed, this is a chance to leave the house, enjoy a drink, share a joke and doodle at your own pace.
Every month there are three prizes to win, which are more often than not art related. Amongst them will be Sketchpads, Pens, Paint and Books made by the World's leading art manufacturers such as Derwent, Daler Rowney, Winsor and Newton, Faber Castell, TomBow and Staedtler to name just a few.

How does the evening work?
You turn up, hit the bar get comfy and start doodling. Our artist will roam amongst you dispensing wisdom and wit (at least that's what he's assured me) and encourage you to join in the communal piece.
What do I get for my money?
We will provide paper and pens of all types as well as the chance to win the prizes mentioned above.
Can I bring my own materials?
Of course you can, bring whatever you want, but probably not spray paints they'll make the beer taste funny!
What if I don't like the theme?
Worry not, the art police are very busy on Thurs evenings so they won't be in attendance and you can actually draw whatever you like.
Will you teach me how to draw?
Not in two hours it 'canna be done captain' (Star Trek themed evening to follow) but our resident artist is always happy to share his wisdom.
Do I need to bring a friend?
Nope this is a social event as much as anything else, so there'll be plenty of people to join in with, if all your real friends fail to understand the joy of doodling.
How often will these run?
Once a month.
How should I get there?
That depends on how much you intend to drink! We're within walking distance of the train station, bus station and a multistorey car park. The choice is entirely yours. Parking in Huddersfield is free after 6.00 p.m in most parts of town within walking distance.
