PELVIS, LEGS & INSTINCTSupport · Mobility · Awareness
The pelvis and legs are central to how we support ourselves, move through space, and relate to gravity. They participate in walking, balance, direction, breathing, and our ability to act with both stability and freedom. Over time, many of us develop habitual patterns of holding, pushing, or disconnecting from this area of the body. These patterns can affect mobility, coordination, effort, and our general sense of grounding and support. In this workshop, we explore the relationship between the pelvis, legs, spine, and feet through the Feldenkrais Method.
WHAT WE WILL EXPLORE
Through gentle movement sequences and guided attention, participants are invited to investigate:
- How support travels through the body
- The connection between mobility and stability
- Weight shifting and balance
- Diagonal organization and coordination
- Reducing unnecessary effort
- Moving with greater awareness and freedom
Rather than forcing change, the workshop proposes an exploration of movement through curiosity, perception, and ease. As awareness becomes clearer, new possibilities for movement, support, and organization can emerge.
ABOUT THE TEACHER
Juliana Appel is a certified Feldenkrais practitioner, trained at the Feldenkrais Institute in Vienna. She discovered the Feldenkrais Method during her physical theatre studies while searching for deeper awareness, presence, and freedom in movement. Alongside her Feldenkrais practice, Juliana has been involved in theatre throughout most of her life as a teacher, actor, and director. Her background in physical theatre strongly influences the way she teaches, combining movement, attention, and creativity. What fascinates Juliana about the Feldenkrais Method is its simplicity and depth: through small and gentle movements, people can discover easier and more efficient ways of moving, breathing, and being present.
In her workshops, she creates a supportive space where people can explore movement with curiosity, reconnect with their bodies, and experience new possibilities for comfort and awareness.
