The PELLETB is a multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank written examination designed to measure reading and writing ability. Applicants are given 1 hour 45 minutes to complete the PELLETB.
Candidates may take the PELLETB multiple times to achieve a passing T-score (ACSO passing T-score is 42). However, California POST requires at least 30 days between PELLETB examinations. Any exam taken less than 30 days after a previous PELLETB attempt will be invalidated.
To comply with California POST security measures, you must present a valid government-issued photo ID. Your ID will be held for the duration of the exam and returned when testing concludes.
Please plan to arrive early. Check-in is at 1630 hours (4:30pm), and the test begins promptly at 1700 hours (5:00pm). Late arrivals will not be admitted. No Exceptions.
Recruiters from the Alameda County Sheriff's Office will be present to answer questions and speak with attendees.
For further information or questions, please contact the Alameda County Sheriff's Office - Recruiting Unit at [email protected] or call (925) 551-5730.
