Join us Friday, December 5th at 12 PM as we gather for a peaceful protest demanding truth, fairness, and accountability for Benji. We will continue to show up every Friday we can, standing together until real justice is delivered. For those unfamiliar with the case: Benji walked into WakeMed unarmed, in the middle of a severe mental health crisis, looking for help. Instead of being met with care, the situation spiraled into something that should have never happened—something no family should ever have to endure. And now, instead of receiving understanding or fair consideration, he is facing an unjust response from those in power within the Wake County justice system, including those responsible for charging decisions and bond recommendations.
But this isn’t just about Benji.
This is about a pattern a larger issue affecting minorities, Black and brown communities, and anyone who has ever needed help but was met with force, judgment, or bias instead. What happens to Benji speaks to how vulnerable people are treated when they seek support, and how quickly our communities can be criminalized instead of protected.
We’re standing up because every person no matter their background, color, or circumstances deserves compassion, due process, and fair treatment under the law.
If you’re able, please stand with us.
Your voice makes the movement stronger. Your presence pushes the system to listen.
Justice for Benji. Justice for our communities. Release the footage. Treat EVERYONE fairly.
