On Tuesday 27th Oct at 10am, we're asking everyone to bring their salu / sasa broom to the BHP Office - its time they clean up their act! We’re asking our Pacific communities and allies to show up for the frontline communities who are dangerously impacted by the pollution and extraction caused by BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA).
We will carry our banners and show our collective power to demand that BMA abandon its coal expansion projects now!
Why this matters now?
Pacific peoples face an existential threat from climate change. Keeping global heating below 1.5°C is not an abstract target for us – it is the line between survival and devastation.
But the world is far off track. Australia’s fossil fuel exports are some of the biggest contributors to global warming. And for decades, the fossil fuel industry has used its power to shape political systems, block ambitious climate policy, and strengthen right-wing influence over key national and international decisions.
This power has caused generational harm to Indigenous communities, eroding Indigenous rights and weakening protections for land and seas.
We cannot allow companies like BMA to keep deciding our future.
RSVP and let us know you'll be there : https://forms.gle/oZssoFjqyVpEPoB17
