Take a Pause with a Ukrainian Jazz trio - three siblings sharing one musical language. 🇺🇦
✨ Get ready for a Sunday matinée with ShekBand (@shekband), the Kyiv-based family trio bringing together contemporary jazz, Ukrainian folk influences and an unmistakable energy of their own. 🎹🎻🥁
🎶 Pianist and harpist Anna Shekera, double bassist Artem Shekera and drummer and flautist Maksym Shekera have been making music together since 2015. Since then, they have won more than 50 international jazz awards and performed at festivals and venues across Europe, helping bring contemporary Ukrainian jazz to audiences far beyond the country’s borders.
✨ Their recent highlights include performances at Tremplin Jazz d’Avignon and Jazz in the Park Cluj-Napoca, alongside artists such as Ibrahim Maalouf, Robinson Khoury Daoud and Mammal Hands.
🤝 This event is part of “Pause meets CinEast”, the jazz matinée series we have organised in partnership with @neimenster for many years.
