Tonight, we begin at 7pm with an open mic section: arrive 10 minutes early to get your name on the list, and be prepared with maximum 3 minutes of poetry. After this, we have two featured readers:*Paul Munden, a poet and screenwriter from North Yorkshire, has been a regular visitor to Canberra, and ran the Poetry on the Move festival from 2015–17. Author of seven poetry collections, and many chapbooks, he has also written the definitive book on Nigel Kennedy, the violinist. Paul’s film work began as a reader for Stanley Kubrick in the 1990s. His latest book of poems, Peckinpah Suite (Recent Work Press, 2025), focuses on the legendary American director, and his own film The Darkroom is currently in preparation. (https://paulmunden.com )
*Susan Fealy is based in Melbourne on Wurundjeri land. Her poems have appeared recently in Best of Australian Poems 2025 and The Weekend Australian. Her debut collection Flute of Milk won the 2017 Wesley Michel Wright Prize and shortlisted for the 2018 Mary Gilmore Award. She has read and discussed her work at many poetry festivals and events including the IPSI Poetry on the Move Festival and the Perth Poetry Festival. The Deer Woman is her second full-length collection. (Upswell, 2026).
