In this mini-series workshop we will get creative with pastel pencils!
Pastel pencils are an exciting medium to work with as they offer a range of potentials. Create bold marks, fine details, rich colors, and painterly pieces all with the ease of pencil drawing.
If you are new to the medium, the best place to start is with guidance. So come join local artist Kaelee Thompson as she walks you through a step-by-step process. You can expect to learn about different types of soft pastels, pastel paper, blending tools and techniques on how to use all of them.
In this 4-class series, Kaelee will teach you how to create your own animal portrait (or subject of your choosing). There will be demos and discussions on each step, as well as open time to draw while Kaelee walks around to answer questions.
All materials are provided and all experience levels welcome! This class holds no expectations to complete a “finished” work of art. The idea is to spend a bit of time each week in a creative mindfulness practice, while learning new skills or simply relaxing in good company among the plants!
