Expect the usual eclectic mix as he delves into his murky life to serve up poems on subjects such as: family, pop music (The Wombles, anyone?), foreign travel, pork pies (that might be made up), rugby, (union not league), work, beer, and a whole host of other subjects – whether you like it or not!
And this time he’s hired some local lyrical muscle to help wield the poetic hammer: two fine East Riding poets, Alison Stark and Tim Buescher, will be his special guests, and we can only hope that they rein in Chris’s more romantic flights of fancy – some hope!
Chris Sewart is from Beverley and was the Festival Poet at the Stage 4 Beverley 2026 Festival, at which he also debuted his second solo show, How to Fold a Paper Aeroplane. He previously supported Roger McGough at the 2024 festival and has run a series of music-themed writing workshops that have kick-started the last four festivals.
Chris has poems and short stories in recent collections and anthologies from: The Fig Tree, Write Out Loud, Thelmezine, About Larkin, Broken Sleep, and Crossing The Tees. He is a member of the Hull and East Riding Stanza, the Poetry Society and the Society of Authors.
