About this Event
Join us for the Passing the Mic Showcase to close out the Passing the Mic Festival 20th Anniversary!
Experience performances by the First Wave Touring Ensemble, Barrio Dance Company and the next generation of youth artists as they reflect on this years theme, Future Present.
Future Present is an invitation to honor the significance of the now, the then, and the yet to come. It is an exploration of art as living memory, collective practice, and future-making. The stories, movements, communities, and cultural practices that came before us shape who we are, how we understand the world, and what we believe is possible. Through poetry, storytelling, music, dance, visual art, and interdisciplinary performance, Passing the Mic explores art as a living record and a generative force.
