Join us at Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble for an intergenerational creative exchange exploring themes of "Rites of Passage". Learn about the participants below:
Miranda Patterson & Angela Allyn -- collaborated on a beautiful dance film marking passages of time and finding yourself in a place you weren't expecting.
Caitlin Wonsowski & William Crowley -- choreographed a compelling duet titled 'Proving Ground' to "Three Blue" by Geoffrey Armes.
Donna Johnson created an oil painting alongside Lonie Walker's original song 'Dreamin' grappling with themes of craving change and a deep knowing that there are more ways to live than what has been offered to us. This collaboration invites the audience to dance to the recording, encircling Donna's artwork.
Paris Levin & Aimee Bass -- developed their work on a mutual admiration of cicadas and their process of emergence. Paris starts by sharing a poem, then performs a movement solo driven by live percussion offered by Aimee.
Perla Sanchez & Mary Flint Anthony -- narrate different rites of passage they've undergone and Perla interprets Mary's experiences via improvisatory dance. Their collaboration is entitled "Stumbling Through Time".
This program is made is made possible by Innovation 80 and program leader, Frank Pattee David.
