Hands-on class for birthing parents and partners covering birth support, baby care, and postpartum - great for first-time or repeat families
About this Event

This is an In-Person Class

Partner Bootcamp is a hands-on, supportive class designed for birthing parents and the people supporting them. Partners, co-parents, grandparents, friends, and chosen family are all welcome.

This class is intentionally designed to be taken together by the birthing parent and their chosen support person(s). While there is a strong emphasis on the role of partners and caregivers, the birthing parent’s presence adds important context, shared understanding, and teamwork.

Whether you’re preparing for your first baby or welcoming your second, third, or more, this class offers practical tools without the time commitment of a full childbirth education course. It’s ideal for first-time parents and a great refresher for experienced families who want to feel more confident and prepared.

What We’ll Cover

Birth Support & Comfort Measures

  • How to support the birthing parent during labor
  • Hands-on comfort measures for contractions
  • Being a calm, steady presence in the birth space
  • Advocacy: helping voice preferences, asking questions, and slowing things down when needed

Postpartum Reality Check

  • What emotional recovery can look like after birth
  • Physical healing after vaginal and cesarean birth
  • Sleep deprivation and adjusting to newborn life
  • How partners and support people can offer meaningful, day-to-day help

Baby Care Basics

  • Diapering and newborn care essentials
  • Swaddling (including modern, sanity-saving options)
  • Soothing a crying baby
  • Feeding support, especially for breastfeeding families
  • Safe sleep basics

Mental Health & Emotional Support

  • Understanding postpartum mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs)
  • Signs to watch for in both birth parents and partners
  • When and how to seek support

Practical Prep

  • Hospital packing basics
  • Essential baby gear
  • Planning ahead for the early weeks at home

This class is interactive, practical, and grounded in real-life caregiving. You don’t have to remember everything—you’re learning how to show up, communicate, and support each other.

You’re not doing this alone. You’re in this together.

Investment & Medicaid Coverage

This prenatal yoga offering is available as a 4-class package.
