Your child is growing up in a world you were not raised in. Not just a different era, but a different cultural landscape altogether. The question is: are you equipped to parent them through it?
Today's children in the UK are navigating multiple worlds at once. They move between home, school, friendships, social media and wider society, each carrying its own values, expectations and cultural cues. For many, their sense of identity is layered, shaped by heritage, by the culture around them and by everything in between. As parents, how do we raise children who are grounded, confident and equipped for this reality? How do we connect meaningfully with children whose world looks quite different to the one we grew up in?
These are the questions at the heart of this workshop, and we believe every parent deserves a space to explore them.
Who is this for?
This workshop is for everyone - men and women. Whether your family reflects multiple cultures and backgrounds, or you simply want to be a more culturally aware parent in an increasingly global world, this space is for you. It is open to parents, aspiring parents, and anyone who plays a significant role in the life of a child or young person. You do not need to come from a particular background to find this relevant. In today's world, every child is growing up in a multicultural reality, and every parent can benefit from the tools to navigate it well.
Your Facilitator
The workshop will be led by Jennifer Izekor, CEO of Above Difference and an Advanced Accredited Cultural Intelligence Trainer and Facilitator. Described by Professor David Livermore, President of the Cultural Intelligence Institute USA, as "one of the best CQ trainers and facilitators on the planet," Jennifer brings world-class expertise alongside a genuine passion for children, young people and the families raising them. Expect a rich, honest and practical session held in a safe and supportive space. This is not a lecture; it is a conversation.
