Parent Coffee Morning – Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA)

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are pleased to invite you to a series of parent coffee mornings focusing on Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA), led by Dr Emily Childs, Educational Psychologist.

These sessions will take place at Upton Lane from 9:15am–10:00am on the following dates:

• Wednesday 3rd June
• Wednesday 10th June
• Wednesday 17th June

This is a 3-part training programme designed to support parents and carers in understanding and responding to Emotional Based School Avoidance. The sessions will cover:

• What Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA) is
• Possible reasons behind EBSA
• Strategies to support your child’s attendance and engagement in school
• Opportunities for questions and discussion

Please note that parents/carers are expected to attend all three sessions, as each session builds upon the previous one and covers different content.

We hope these sessions will provide helpful guidance, practical strategies, and an opportunity to connect with other parents and carers.
