Parent & Child Sewing Workshop: Make Your Own Apron
Spend a creative afternoon together making something you can actually use and enjoy for years to come.
In this special parent and child workshop, you’ll each make and customise your own apron. We’ll learn some simple sewing techniques together, before giving you plenty of time and freedom to make your aprons completely your own.
We’ll start by getting comfortable with the sewing machine and practising some basic stitching, before learning how to add decorative details by hand and with the machine. You’ll then choose your apron, fabrics and trims and let your creativity take over.
There’s no right or wrong way to design your apron — you can experiment with colours, textures, appliqué and trims to create something that feels like you.
And while you’re both making, you can also help each other along the way. Whether that means sharing ideas, holding some fabric or simply admiring what the other person is creating, this is a chance to make something side by side and enjoy the process together.
All materials are provided, including your apron and a selection of fabrics and decorative trims to customise it with.

This workshop is about making something together, giving creativity some space, and enjoying the satisfaction of creating something with your own hands.
Suitable for children aged 7–14, accompanied by one adult. No previous sewing experience is necessary.
