Parasol Patrol is a nonprofit dedicated to shielding children and young people from hostile protesters at 2SLGBTQIA+ and BIPOC events. Using umbrellas to create a visual barrier, we guide families past harmful messages from groups like Proud Boys, Patriot Front Blood Tribe, GAG and Westboro Baptist Church. For the youngest, we provide noise-canceling ear protection to block the hateful slurs often yelled through bullhorns. Our mission is to ensure that children can walk through their communities with dignity, protected from the hate that seeks to harm them.On Sunday, April 26, 2026, Parasol Patrol will proudly stand at the 3131 Osceola Street, Denver, CO 80212, ready to shield children, families and Sister Cas Cara. We always welcome families with open hearts, smiles, and immense gratitude.
The Four Corners Empire of La Corte Imperia de Borbon, Viscaya, of Denver, CO is hosting this fabulous event. It’s truly inspiring to witness children learning a love of reading in a safe and supportive environment. At Parasol Patrol, our mission is to help create spaces where kids can thrive and embrace their true, authentic selves without fear. Together, we can make that vision a reality.
It's crucial for Parasol Patrol volunteers to remember that we are not a counter-protest group. We don’t engage with protesters. While we may be present because of their actions, we are there for the kids, and that is where we focus our energy.
Volunteer guidelines will be posted in the comments. We deeply appreciate your support of Parasol Patrol. Our mission isn’t about influencing identities. It’s about ensuring that all children, especially BIPOC and Queer youth, know they are loved and supported by their entire community, not *in spite* of who they are, but *because* of who they are."
