Come learn about bulb forcing from Molly Elvin of Blackbird Blooms Farm while enjoying a glass of wine or a bite to eat from Castlerigg Wine Shop! Participants will learn the basics of winter bulb forcing and will create their own centerpiece featuring paperwhites, a flower closely related to daffodils.
Each participant will get to choose their vessel from a variety of crystal, ceramic, and glass containers. Then, fill it with decorative river rocks, 4 paperwhite bulbs, and live moss to finish the arrangement. Paperwhites generally take 4-6 weeks to bloom, so you can expect them to bloom by Christmas or a little later. That makes them a perfect hostess gift for Thanksgiving and Christmas, or a feature of your own holiday decor!
The workshop will be held at Castlerigg Wine Shop in Carlisle, PA, on November 22 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Hope to see you there! Food and drinks are not included in the price.
