Join us at Mercado Amigo on Friday, 30 October, from 4–7pm , and discover one of Mexico’s most cherished seasonal baking traditions: Pan de Muerto .
Meaning “bread of the dead,” this traditional sweet bread is prepared for Día de Muertos , a celebration honouring loved ones who have passed away. Placed on ofrendas —altars of remembrance—and shared with family and friends, it represents the connection between food, memory and love. Its distinctive decorations often resemble bones, reflecting its connection to this meaningful tradition.
Our Pan de Muerto is handmade by Erika Striegl, a Mexican entrepreneur, baker and pastry chef , bringing a taste of her heritage to Munich.
