Come along to the Woodshop of Recycled Delights' 'Pallet to Project' Workshop where you will learn how to turn a pallet into something beautiful for your house or garden!
We'll take you through:
- Where and how to find waste timber/ pallets to kickstart your projects
- Ethics and permission around taking waste timber
- Assessing quality and useability of timber
- Processing timber - tools and techniques, plus plenty of time to practice taking pallets apart
- Care and repair tips
- Design considerations when building with timber waste
- Using the right tools for the job
- Expanding your experience with different hand and power tools
- Get to make something!
In this workshop, you'll get to make and take home your own reclaimed wooden shelf, with options to customise it in the workshop!

What Your Workshop Ticket Funds:
The Woodshop of Recycled Delights is a Community Interest Company, meaning that your ticket not only covers your experience at the workshop; it funds the ongoing work WoRD does for our community and environment.
Since 2022, we've rescued over 20,000 kgs of timber from landfill, saving around 35 tonnes of sequestered CO2 from entering our atmosphere! We've used this timber to create more than 150 new growing structures for London community green spaces, and delivered over 6000 hours of accessible learning through workshops and volunteer days to over 2000 people.
Pay-It-Forward Tickets:
We're committed to making sure that joyful and sustainable woodworking is accessible to everyone. We work with funders to offer subsidised and free workshops to community organisations that share our mission of empowering people to use what they have to build what they need - especially people who are traditionally less-represented in woodworking spaces.
We've been doing the same with our woodworking workshops for years - finding places for people to take part, no matter what they can afford. If you have the means, please help us to continue to offer these spaces by booking a Pay-It-Forward workshop ticket for your session. This covers your attendance and helps to fund someone else's place on a WoRD workshop.
Woodworking For Everyone:
If our ticket price is outside your means, please get in touch! Where possible, we reserve sliding-scale, subsidised and free places for people who may face a financial barrier to learning. If this is you, please email [email protected] to chat with us about a place at one of our workshops.
We're passionate about supporting people to make whatever they want out of reclaimed material, and the possibilities are truly endless.
We take a co-learning approach, so whilst our facilitators are experienced, they are not experts. Together we can work out how to make or fix things using reclaimed materials.

PPE provided. Enclosed footwear must be worn.
The GED is an outdoor space, so bring weather-appropriate clothing!
There will be a short lunch break so please bring some lunch with you.
