AMERICA 250 AND THE SQUARE MILE
Get ready to dive into America 250 Celebrations in "The Square Mile"!
This year the City of London will mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. The City of London Guides Lecturers Association will be hosting itineraries celebrating the deep and often overlooked connection between the City of London and early American history.
Qualified City of London Guides will lead you on an itinerary of printers, parishes, trade, rebellion and locations which shaped the ideas that not only crossed the Atlantic but supported the birth of a new nation.
Join us on one if not both the itineraries available. Tours start promptly and last 90 minutes. We try to make our walks as inclusive and accessible as possible. If you have a support dog who assists you they are welcome to come, but unfortunately we cannot accommodate any non-support animals.
· From Magna Carta to the American Mind: A Square Mile Walk
MEET BY THE STATUE OF QUEEN ANNE, who significantly impacted America colonial history (AT FOOT OF WESTERN STEPS TO ST PAULS CATHEDRAL) for this 90 - minute walk. The walk then circles back to London Bridge to the east, via the wards, parishes and locations that shaped America’s beginnings.
