About this Event
A public discussion on Palestinian liberation, anti-colonial resistance and global solidarity, bringing together the editors and authors of two new books. The conversation will explore the histories, ideas and movements connecting Palestine to wider struggles for decolonisation, justice and international solidarity.
SPEAKERS:
Dr. Shahd Hammouri is an academic and international lawyer from Belad-al-Sham (the Levant region). She is the author of the forthcoming book Corporate War Profiteering and International law (CUP, 2026), a co-author of ‘The Gaza Tribunal: the UK’s Complicity in Genocide’ (Pluto Press), and one of the contributors to ‘Rising for Palestine’. She is also a Senior Legal Consultant at Law for Palestine.
Raouf Farrah is an Algerian writer, researcher and activist whose work explores the geopolitics of North Africa and the Sahel, as well as transnational solidarities with oppressed peoples through a decolonial lens. With Suraya Dadoo, he co-edited Rising for Palestine: Africans in Solidarity for Decolonisation and Liberation (Pluto Press, 2026). He is also co-editing the forthcoming book Unsilencing Western Sahara (2027) and is an active member of the Global Sumud Flotilla.
Abi Bae is a Korean researcher working on trade and extractivism issues in Asia Pacific at the Transnational Institute, co-editor of Towards Palestinian Liberation: Global Perspectives on Anti-Colonial Resistance and Solidarity (Daraja Press, 2026).
Dr. Hamza Hamouchene is an Algerian researcher and activist. He is currently the Arab Region Programme Coordinator at the Transnational Institute (TNI). He is the author/editor of four books: Dismantling Green Colonialism: Energy and Climate Justice in the Arab Region (2023), The Arab Uprisings: A Decade of Struggles (2022), The Struggle for Energy Democracy in the Maghreb (2017), The Coming Revolution in North Africa: The Struggle for Climate Justice (2015) and Towards Palestinian Liberation: Global Perspectives on Anti-Colonial Resistance and Solidarity (Daraja Press, 2026).
