Pairing is an intimate afternoon for singles in Berlin. Guided by a wine expert and a professional matchmaker, and held at a private space in Charlottenburg, this event is designed for people who want to meet others in a way that actually feels good. No prior knowledge required, just bring your curiosity.
What to expect
We'll meet at Nicki's, a cosy private location, and spend the afternoon getting to know each other over a guided tasting led by Berlin-based wine expert Annie Jia.
You'll try 3 wines: a pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, and chardonnay, paired with cheese and fruit.
Halfway through, we'll share a short reflection on what wine and dating have in common.
The format
This is not a drop-in event. The group is intentionally small and gender-balanced, which allows for real conversation, and enough time to get a sense of who someone is. Your hosts are dedicated to high-quality wine and high-quality singles.
The atmosphere is relaxed, but there is just enough structure to avoid awkwardness, especially if you tend to be more introverted!
The afternoon timing is intentional: if you meet someone you'd like to keep talking to, there's time for a walk along the nearby Ku'Damm or an early dinner nearby.
Your hosts: Alysia Tofflemire is Germany's only certified matchmaker and founder of Alto, a boutique matchmaking agency for internationally-minded singles across Europe. Annie Jia is a Berlin-based wine expert with deep expertise in wine & hospitality from Shenzhen to Paris.
