Have you ever wanted to try out needle felting but have been too intimidated to give it a try on your own? We get it!
Here's your chance to try out a kit while working with an instructor. Local fiber artist Shawna Sample-Garcia, Woodlands Cottage Creations, will be joining us on Sunday, September 20th to teach a class on needle felting! You may have seen some of her incredible needle felted work at Viking House as we have carried some of her creations for years.

About the event:
To make things easy and allow you to continue to thrive on your own after the class, we will be working with one of the kits we sell at Nordic Notes & Notions. The kit we will use is Wise Owl in a Hoop from The Crafty Kit Company. With this kit we will learn to needle felt in 2D instead of the typical 3D format, which makes it perfect for beginners! This piece can make a great wall hanging or gift and is perfect for fall with the moonlit owl looking off into the night! This kit has pretty much everything you need to succeed, but if you happen to have a pair of trusty crafting scissors that you can bring for yourself it will make things go smoother. We are trying to round up as many pairs as we can provide, but if you have your own so you don't have to share it will speed things up!
While the kits do have instructions included, this class will help you learn the techniques needed to succeed and help build confidence. We intend on keeping this class small (we are capping it at 10 people), so that there is lots of time for demonstrations and hands on instruction time.
This class will set you up for success to do more needle felting in the future, whether it is with more The Crafty Kit Company kits that we carry, some of our other brand kits, or more freeform on your own!
