Join artist and musician Alex Berger on Tuesday, October 13, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 p.m. at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts for Painting With Live Piano, an immersive, relaxed evening combining a live art demonstration, hands-on creativity, and a solo piano performance. Designed for artists of all skill levels with no prior experience necessary, this three-hour workshop provides all materials and invites guests to unwind, paint, and create at their own pace in a supportive studio setting. Tickets are available for $75 for LACA members and $90 for non-members.The evening begins with a warm welcome set to ambient piano music as guests arrive and settle in. Alex will then lead a 45-minute live painting demonstration, transforming a blank canvas into a finished composition while explaining color mixing, composition, and brushwork in real time with open conversation throughout. After setting up supplies, participants will dive into their own paintings accompanied by a 30-minute live solo piano performance blending classical repertoire, jazz influences, and reflective improvisations. A midway break offers time to mingle, stretch, and receive tailored technique feedback before a second live piano set guides everyone through the final touches on their canvases. The night closes with a casual art and music trivia game where one lucky participant will take home Alex’s original demonstration painting, followed by final photos and socializing.
