Join me for a fun, hands-on creative evening of paint, mixed media & expressive mark-makingAbout this Event
Let go of expectations, trust your intuition, and discover the freedom of expressive abstract art in this relaxed and creative mixed media workshop.
This session is all about play, experimentation and personal expression. Rather than focusing on structured techniques or creating a realistic outcome, you’ll be encouraged to explore colour, movement, texture and mark-making to create your own unique abstract artwork.
You don’t need to be “good at art” and there’s no right or wrong way to approach the session. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced maker, this is a chance to switch off, experiment and connect with your own creative voice.
What we'll explore
✨ Warm-up exercises to loosen up and get into the creative flow
✨ Gestural mark-making using a range of tools
✨ Painting with brushes, palette knives, sponges and more
✨ Mixed media techniques for texture and layering
✨ Using colour intuitively to explore mood, energy and emotion
✨ Allowing your instincts to guide your composition and creative choices
Ellie will demonstrate techniques throughout the session and share tips to help you experiment with mixed media and develop your own expressive approach.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created a unique abstract piece to take home, along with new ideas and confidence to continue exploring your creativity.
