Café Olé is a fun room to paint in — good energy, the kind of place where a Saturday afternoon turns into something you actually remember. I've been looking forward to bringing this particular painting here, because Northern Nights II is one of those pieces that surprises people. It starts as a dark sky — deep black and blue — and then the purples and whites and that warm yellow light start coming together, and you realize you're building something that actually looks like a northern night over a still lake, trees going dark against the glow. No brush experience required; I'll meet you where you are and we'll build it up together. By the end, that canvas is going to look like yours.
