🌞 WINTER SOLSTICE • THE RETURNING LIGHT
As the wheel of the year turns toward the longest night, we gather to honor the Winter Solstice — the sacred turning point when the Sun begins its journey back toward the fullness of Summer.
For our ancestors, the Sun was more than a source of warmth and illumination. It was life itself — the great celestial force upon which the rhythms of nature, the fertility of the Earth, and the survival of the community depended.
In the Norse tradition, Sól is the radiant Sun Goddess, driving her chariot across the heavens, pursued by the wolf Sköll.
And though the darkness deepens, the Light is never extinguished.
At Winter Solstice, we honor the great turning — the renewal of the solar cycle, the endurance of life through the darkness, and the eternal interplay of Light and Shadow.
We will gather in sacred circle to honor Sól, the Gods and Goddesses, the Ancestors, and the natural forces that sustain life.
Following the Anchor the Light meditation and field generation, we will unite our intentions, anchor the Light of our Divine Selves, and welcome the Returning Sun.
As the old year draws to a close, we give thanks for its blessings, its lessons, and the wisdom gained along the way.
May the Light we cultivate within ourselves illuminate the world around us.
Til árs ok friðar! 🍻
For a good year and peace!
