PACO-Ghana Fundraising Concert
Saturday, October 24, 2026 | 5:00 PM | St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Parish Hall, 600 Colorado Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94306
The PACO-Ghana program was founded in 2021 and is a collaboration between the students of the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra (PACO) and the students of the SOS Children’s Village, a school and orphanage, in Accra, Ghana. PACO students from Debut through Senior teach the students aged 8 to 16 throughout the school year through weekly 1-on-1 Zoom lessons where they work on solo, chamber, and orchestra repertoire, as well as technique. It is an opportunity for students on both sides to learn, teach, and connect
This fundraising concert will feature solo and chamber performances and speeches by teachers of the PACO-Ghana program. All donations will go towards collecting and shipping string instruments and accessories, such as strings, rosin, shoulder rests, rock stops, etc. to Accra in Spring 2027 in order to help the students continue to have access to music. Donations can be made through the PACO Website [insert info]. We also encourage you to bring instrument or accessory donations to the concert. Specifically, gently used or new string instruments, bows, strings, shoulder rests, rosin, rock stops, and mutes of all sizes.
For any questions, information, or instrument donations, please contact Iona Liu at [email protected].
Join us for an evening filled with beautiful performances and heartfelt words from the PACO-Ghana teachers. Your support will help attain and send instruments to the students in Accra and keep them playing. We hope to see you there!
