About this Event
Luff Chorus’s new concert features a rich repertoire of French holiday masterpieces, including Saint-Saëns’s Oratorio de Noël and Poulenc’s Quatre motets pour les temps de Noël.
‘Où sont amour et charité, Dieu est présent.’
(Where charity and love are, God is there.)
As the winter season approaches, it brings a spirit of warmth, reflection, and unity. The holidays invite us to gather, share our blessings, and find light in the coldest days of the year.
This winter, Luff Chorus is proud to present a French Christmas Concert inspired by the themes found within our referenced program, "Luff French Christmas Concert: Où sont amour et charité.pdf". We are celebrating the profound beauty and elegance of the French choral tradition. At the heart of our programme is a performance of Camille Saint-Saëns’s Oratorio de Noël—a soaring, lyrical masterpiece that beautifully captures the mystery and joy of the nativity. Alongside this monumental work, we will weave through the intricate harmonies of Francis Poulenc’s Quatre motets pour les temps de Noël, Claude Debussy's atmospheric Danse sacrée et danse profane for ensemble, and Maurice Duruflé's timeless Ubi Caritas.
Join us as we welcome the festive season.
