OYOU Announces Tammi Fest 2026: “Festival of Words”Two-Day Celebration of Music, Songwriting and Community Comes to San Marcos and Martindale September 25–26
SAN MARCOS & MARTINDALE, TEXAS — Own Your Own Universe (OYOU), a Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives and making the arts accessible to everyone, invites the public to Tammi Fest 2026: “Festival of Words,” a two-day celebration of music, creativity and community taking place Friday, September 25, in San Marcos and Saturday, September 26, in downtown Martindale.
Presented annually in honor of Tammi Hendrix, sister of Texas singer-songwriter and OYOU founder Terri Hendrix, Tammi Fest celebrates Tammi’s love of music, art and creative expression — a spirit that continues to inspire OYOU’s mission.
Since 2012, Own Your Own Universe has worked to empower and transform lives by connecting mind, body and spirit through music and the creative arts. Through free and affordable programming, OYOU removes barriers to participation while ensuring that musicians, artists, teachers and workshop leaders are fairly compensated for their work.
Friday, September 25: OYOU Fall Fundraiser at the Price Center
Tammi Fest begins Friday evening with OYOU’s Fall Fundraiser, a ticketed indoor concert produced and funded entirely by OYOU.

Special collaborative finale featuring all four artists
Guests can also enjoy munchies, a cash bar, silent auction and raffle throughout the evening.
OYOU has set a $10,000 fundraising goal for the event. Proceeds will directly support the organization’s winter community programming and help OYOU continue providing free and low-cost arts experiences while paying the musicians, artists, instructors and workshop leaders who make those programs possible.
Saturday, September 26: Free Tammi Fest in Downtown Martindale
The celebration continues Saturday in downtown Martindale, where Tammi Fest becomes a free community festival for all ages, made possible through support from the City of Martindale.

The day begins with a free Songwriters Workshop from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Crook Building, featuring longtime friends and acclaimed Texas songwriters Adam & Chris Carroll, Terri Hendrix, Lloyd Maines and Mark Jungers.
Songwriters and music lovers of every experience level are welcome. Participants are encouraged to bring their questions along with a notebook, pencil, phone or tablet.
Following the workshop, downtown Martindale comes alive with live music, food and market vendors. Main Street will be closed to traffic, creating a welcoming outdoor festival space where families and music fans can gather, relax and enjoy the performances. Complimentary bottled water and cooling fans will be available.

Whipsmart lyrics, blazing harmonica and good vibes kick off the afternoon.
2:30 p.m. — Emily Gimble & Michael Archer
An energetic blend of piano-driven Americana and swing-infused songs.
3:45 p.m. — Leeann Atherton
The legendary South Austin singer-songwriter brings her signature bluesy, soulful storytelling to the stage.
5:15 p.m. — The Jones Family Singers
The acclaimed group lifts spirits with its award-winning blend of gospel, soul and high-energy performance.
7:00 p.m. — Henry Invisible
The funk favorite closes Tammi Fest with an upbeat dance party celebrating music and community.
Festival goers can also enjoy Texas Oven Co. gourmet pizza and more, local market vendors and family-friendly activities. Attendees are welcome to bring coolers; no glass containers are permitted.
