About this Event
In this one-session class, participants will learn to safely operate an Oxy-Acetylene rig. The class covers safety & PPE, setup of the Oxy-Acetylene rig, cutting steel, and welding steel with Oxy-Acetylene. The training includes setting up the gas tanks and regulators, selecting the right torch and tip for the job, swapping tips and attachments, setting the gas flow, lighting and extinguishing the torch and achieving a neutral flame. Students will then learn how to cut steel using Oxy-Acetylene and how to gas weld. The course will also cover safety checks, proper PPE and trouble-shooting. By the end of the course, students will have fabricated their own steel bookends using Oxy-Acetylene and will be equipped to use Oxy-Acetylene safely.
