- Gear.Tent is bringing an in-person outdoor gear and clothing swap to Winnipeg, powered by the Gear.Tent marketplace app.
Think of it as a huge, organized outdoor consignment event: sellers bring in their quality used outdoor gear and clothing, we merchandise it for them, and shoppers get two full days to browse, touch, try on and buy.
- No seller tables. No standing around all weekend.
Sellers simply list their items on Gear.Tent, label them, drop them off, and we do the rest.

HOW SELLING WORKS
- Download the Gear.Tent app.
- Create an account and list the outdoor gear or clothing you want to sell.
-Set your own price.
- Label each item with your Gear.Tent username and price.
- Drop your items off Thursday or Friday.
- We organize and merchandise everything for the weekend.
- When something sells, the transaction happens through Gear.Tent and you can follow your sales through the app.
Gear.Tent takes a 20% commission on sold items. You keep 80%.
If something doesn't sell, you can pick it up after 4 PM Sunday, or leave it listed on Gear.Tent and have us take it along to future swaps.
HOW SHOPPING WORKS
- Come to the swap Saturday or Sunday and browse quality used outdoor gear, clothing, footwear and accessories.
- Unlike buying used gear online, you can see it, touch it, check the condition and try things on before buying.
- When you find something you want, purchase it through the Gear.Tent app, show your receipt and take your new-to-you gear home.
WHAT SHOULD I SELL?
We're looking for clean, modern, good-quality outdoor gear and clothing with lots of life left in it.
Think:
Patagonia • Arc'teryx • MEC • Salomon • Osprey • Lululemon and other quality outdoor/active brands.
Great swap items include down jackets, rain shells, merino wool, base layers, hiking boots, trail-running gear, backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, paddling gear, ski and snowboard gear, climbing gear, running gear, kids' winter clothing and outdoor accessories.
Vintage, unusual and funky outdoor pieces are welcome too.
The basic rule:
Bring the outdoor stuff you'd be excited to find yourself.
