Out & About London - Socialisng is taking a meet-up summer holiday in Greece! Off the beaten tourist track and more as 'a local'!
If you'd enjoy a mini city break and love nature, simplicity and magnificence, exploring cultures, the sea & sun, seeing the stars at night, mediterranean flavours (of course, you're in Greece!), sun downer aperitifs too, in a fun group spirit with a bit of quality 'me' time as well then this trip is for you!
Thessaloniki, Mt Olympus and Platamonas area in Greece, have a magical energy, no wonder why the 12 Gods in ancient Greece chose to live there!
Saturday, 27th July : arrive in Thessaloniki, A vibrant metropolis, the 2nd capital city of Greece, a fine blend of Ancient, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman civilisations, also modern and cosmopolitan hub, foodies paradise, a fun and lively experience by the sea.
Sunday, 28th July: A walk around by Eleni 'as a local' to explore its sites and flavours.
We are visiting Aristotle Square, Ladadika, patron st Demetrios cathedral & crypt, the Arch of Galerius, Navarinou sq, Modiano covered & Kapani open market, while indulging in local flavours. If you'd like to visit the Archaeological, Byzantine & Jewish Museum and a few more UNESCO World Heritage sights, a day more is highly recommended.
In the evening we are reaching Platamonas (transfer costs around £30 and depending on number of participants)

Monday, 29th July: Half day trip (INCLUDED IN PRICE) to Mt Olympus traditional villages Litochoro, Enipeas river where Zeus used to bathe, the iconic cobbled Old Panteleimon with the Muses spring and the old church, St Dionisios 15th century monastery.
Tuesday, 30th July: Visiting the 10th century Byzantine castle, after a mild hike, enjoying the local cuisine with stunning views from Neos Panteleimonas area beach time in Gallaria, a former train tunnel & a popular beach bar.
Wednesday, 31st July: Day trip visiting Meteora, a renown UNESCO site, with the alien like landscape, hosting the 14th century monasteries complex. Lunch in traditonal Greek tavern, in the shade of the skyhigh tall black rocks.
Thursday, 1st Aug: A blissfull day to relax on the beach bar at your own convenience. Chill with a cold drink or a freddo(iced)cappucino, work out with a water bicycle, swim, sunbathe, meditate and connect deeper with the grounding and healing energies of the earth and the sea.
Friday, 2nd Aug: Departure or stay longer for the weekend and enjoy the weekend on the beach, indulge in local delicacies and make the most of summer time where the sky is always blue and the sun is gloriously shining.
All aforementioned day trips except the Mt Olympus one on 29th July are optional and between £25-£40 each.
Some mornings are free to take your own time by the blue sea, the local cafes, read your book, enjoy life!
Late afternoons are well invested on different well organised beaches offering free sunbeds upon consumpion & facilities, traditional sea side taverns & beach bars in a laid back atmosphere, enjoying the magnificent scenery, relaxing, swimming, sunbathing.
Your investment of £639 includes :
-1 night (27/7) in a double room for SINGLE occupancy, in a 3* hotel in Thessaloniki with breakfast, very centrally located.
-5 nights (28/7 - 2/8) in a very spacious, well presented & well equipped, DOUBLE for SINGLE occupancy similar to 2.5 star self-catering STUDIO with a balcony in an apart-hotel in Platamonas, 3 mins on foot from the seaside with plenty of bars, shops and restaurants around, yet very quiet and secluded from the hustle and bustle.
-Sweet and/or savoury snacks and fruits every day on the beach, to combat that sea salt craving effect.
-One time BOUGATSA for late breakfast at a local cafe in Platamonas (local pastries with feta cheese, spinach or custard cream) when we visit as a group.
-The day trip to Mt Olympus villages on the 29th of July.
-Organising, financial protection .
-All necessary arrangements for a smooth experience. Eleni is escorting the group throughout the duration of the trip.
FOR YOUR PLUS ONE, for early arrival in Thessaloniki or another 2 nights in Platamonas untill the 4th of Aug can be ensured up to date.
