Nomad Stories of the Woods
Treemoot International Storytelling Festival

On this special day of the festival, you will hear from master Gypsy storytellers Richard O'Neill and Damian Le Bas about the extraordinary cultural history of the Norwood Gypsies, the old Gypsy stopping places of South East London, and the rich tradition of woodland stories and wood carving among Romani Gypsies in England.
This ticket includes a booking for the opening of the festival to be held on Saturday July 27, 2024.

This events is for all ages, and accessible to all. Rehreshments are available at the festival camp, and there are access-free toilets also available.
Richard O'Neill
Richard is one of the mosty distinguished Gypsy storytellers in England, brought up in the nomadic storytelling tradition, also a fine woodcarver and engraver.
Damian Le Bas
Damian is a writer from West Sussex. His book The Stopping Places: A Journey through Gypsy Britain, which described a year spent travelling around traditional Romany camping grounds, won the Somerset Maugham and Jerwood awards.
