There are nights that are remembered because something extraordinary happened. Then there is the night quite unlike any other when in the stillness of Bethlehem, beneath the wonder of a star-filled sky, the eternal God, the One whom Heaven could not contain came to earth as the scriptures foretold.
This was no ordinary birth. The angel declared:
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which interpreted is ‘God with us’.”
Matthew 1:23
Not a God distant, hidden or unreachable but Emmanuel God with us!!
And suddenly, the silence of that night was interrupted by the worship of Heaven singing
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
Luke 2:14
This is your invitation to draw near to Emmanuel, for earth to join with Heaven’s song and Worship the King of Kings.
Do not come to be entertained or to sing a few carols - there will be no programme, we are gathering to adore, to glorify, to worship the King of Kings.
Oh that we may we slow down in this busy season and pour out our hearts, to sit at His feet and, in the stillness of His presence, let us worship the One whose coming changed everything.
