Oregon Origins Project presents 𝗢𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗜𝗫: 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘁, a one-of-a-kind gathering of artists and culture bearers of Oregon’s south-central coastal tribes. Join us for a celebration of Indigenous living traditions through art, language, storytelling, and ecological knowledge. Tickets on sale now at oregonorigins.org!Sculptor, carver, and educator Shirod Younker, Coquille, miluk (Coos), Umpqua, will emcee the event. The event’s presenters include: Jesse Beers, quuiich (Lower Umpqua), sha’yuushtɬ’a (Siuslaw), cultural stewardship manager; Enna Helms, miluk (Coos), language teacher, regalia and basketmaker; and Ayuthea LaPier, hanis (Coos), Blackfeet, Tlingit, Métis, beadworker, basketmaker, and cultural burning practitioner.
𝗢𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗜𝗫: 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘁 is generously supported by the Ronni S. Lacroute Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation, Roundhouse Foundation, Reed College Master of Arts in Liberal Studies Program, Reed College Office of the President, and Native American Youth and Family Center.
