About this Event
Join Westchester Land Trust’s Program Manager, Kim Fendrich, and Land Steward and Educator, Jake Sacket, for an invigorating three-mile hike at Turkey Mountain Preserve, owned and managed by the Town of Yorktown. We’ll hike past rocky outcrops (and get a geologist’s perspective) with leaves crunching beneath our feet and a glimpse of the NYC skyline in the distance.
This land is part of the Croton-to-Highlands Biodiversity Area, which provides vital habitat for local wildlife. WLT acquired and actively manages 24 acres east of Turkey Mountain Preserve, connecting a 550-acre contiguous corridor of permanently protected forest and wetland, that also adjoins other protected lands owned and managed by NYS DEC and NYC DEP as a critical watershed area.
Please note, this preserve is not dog friendly.
