Operation Give Birds 2026Thanksgiving 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of Operation Give Birds, and this year will be our biggest effort yet!
What started as a prank between friends has grown into a nonprofit movement dedicated to helping families across Iowa. This year, Iowa Giving Crew will provide 2,750 Thanksgiving meals to families in need throughout Eastern Iowa and North Iowa.
Each meal feeds a family of 4 to 6 people and costs approximately $40 to provide. Meal boxes include a turkey, rolls, corn, green beans, stuffing, gravy, and other Thanksgiving essentials.

Need a Thanksgiving meal? Follow our page and this event for updates. Meal registration will open in early November and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Together, we can make sure thousands of families have a Thanksgiving meal to gather around this holiday season. 🦃❤️
