� YE MAYDES IS REOPENING!After being closed for some time, one of Biddenden High Street’s most recognisable historic buildings is opening its doors again — with a new lease of life.
Ye Maydes is becoming a small, informal gallery and creative space, bringing together artwork from local artists alongside colourful, unusual and curious pieces.
We’d love to see Ye Maydes enjoyed in the village again — a place to discover art created by local artists, see something different and perhaps find a piece to take home.
Our first exhibition will feature the bold, colourful and distinctive work of Outsider Drew, alongside pieces from other local artists.
Drew’s work is unmistakably contemporary, colourful and full of character. Working with found, reclaimed and discarded materials, he transforms everyday objects and materials into striking pieces of art. His work has developed a distinctive style of its own — vivid, unexpected and playful , with a real sense of energy and personality. We’re delighted to be bringing his work to The Gallery @ Ye Maydes.
There’s also a lovely connection between Drew’s approach and what we’re hoping to do with Ye Maydes. He sees potential in things that might otherwise be overlooked and gives them a new life. In much the same way, we want to bring this wonderful historic space back into use — giving it a new purpose while celebrating its character and history, and filling it with colour, creativity and life once again.
And there’s a special surprise… �
� Drew has created a unique painting inspired by Biddenden, especially for The Gallery @ Ye Maydes. We’ll be revealing it at the opening. Signed prints will be available to purchase.

Entry is completely FREE, with drinks available to purchase throughout the evening.
