As the weather warms, our Kambarang/Birak season at WFAC, two exhibitions are presented that are grounded in artistic collaboration and present a rich focus on working together.NET OF TIME is a long-term collaborative project by Munich-based artist Helen Britton and Perth-based artist Justine McKnight, that explores personal and cultural memory through wearable forms, talismans, sound and textile assemblages.
Legal Ghost is the culmination of almost a decade of collaboration between WA-based artists Stephen Brameld and Jay Staples. In a process akin to surrealistic automatic painting, the artists suppress conscious control of the art-making process and access material from their unconscious and shared processes. The artists describe their collaboration as forming a third mind or space, generating a new perspective (or ghostly presence) that sits outside of artists intention or ego.
