The building doors will be open between 10am and dusk each day . My studio , the studio of Curtis Alan Kiwak and the other 6 artists in the building will be open to the public as part of Tucson’s Open Studio Tour! We’re located in midtown on Grant Rd. near Alvernon, in a lively community of artists. Many of my colleagues in the building will also have their doors open—it's a great chance to meet the artists, explore their creative spaces, and see (or even buy!) some amazing local artwork.My studio is part of a WAMO (Warehouse Art Management Organization) property. WAMO provides safe, affordable workspaces for artists—supporting over 50 studios, 15 art-related businesses, and 6,000 square feet of exhibition and performance space across Tucson. My studio here is about 350 square feet, where I create and show my original artwork.
Along with my originals—many priced in the hundreds—I’ll also have a small collection of new art prints available at very reasonable prices.
Although I work in this space regularly, during the Open Studio Tour someone will be here to welcome you, show you around, and represent me while I’m over at the Steinfeld Warehouse. I’ll be participating there in an exhibition with 6 other artists, part of the citywide event organized by the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona. Grant Rd. is currently under construction in front of our building, so there’s no parking directly out front. Visitors can park behind the building, along N. Elaine Blvd. to the east, or in the lot next to the Tucson Art & Design Center. Business access remains open during construction.
