About this Event
Open Mic Poetry and Spoken Word
Whether you're a seasoned poet, an enthusiastic scribbler, or someone who simply loves listening to words, join us at The Reading Room for an evening celebrating poetry in all its forms.
From observations to spoken word, experimental writing and poems that have stayed with you for years, this is a space for words to be shared, voices to be heard, and creativity to find an audience.
Want to perform? Put your name down on the night, bring along an original poem, share a piece by a poet you love, or try something you've been working on. There's no need to be a professional or a published writer. We're here to celebrate the joy of words, not judge them.
Prefer to listen? Settle in, enjoy the performances, discover new voices, and soak up the atmosphere. Maybe you will feel inspired to share something next time!
Expect an informal, welcoming evening where everyone is encouraged to take part, whether that's stepping up to the mic or supporting from the audience.
Come alone or bring a friend. You never know what you might hear, or what might inspire you to put pen to paper.
