About this Event
Do you want to know more about dance improv? Are you lost when the teacher says "Now improv!"? Do you want to build on your improv skills? Are you a dance professional that wants to go back to basics? Then this class is for you!
Together we will go through different guided exercises to help discover unique movement patterns. We will finish the class with a simple choreographed phrase where I will invite you to add your own flavour! Take this class at your own pace, no experience required! Let's dance together!
Price is a sliding scale from $15-30

About the instructor:
Tessa Davies (she/her) is a professional dancer based on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, and is grateful to get to create on these lands. Tessa is a graduate of the Bez Dance Mentorship Program. Her early dance training was at The Happening Company under the direction of Kim Stevenson where she thrived in many forms of dance and had the opportunity to work with OURO Collective, Jamie Robinson, Natalie LeFevbre Gnam & Christian Lagasse.
Recently she has been collaborating on various dance & film projects with Maria Schroeder, Selene Dublanko, Joanna Anderson and Ashley Delphine. She is an instructor at Bez Dance in Langley BC, and enjoys sharing her passion with her students. In addition to teaching and dancing at Bez Arts Hub, she is also the venue manager and promotions & events manager. In September she will be taking part in the Performance Research Project with Inverso Productions. A 10-week residency program where she will get to work with local choreographers and continue pursuing her dance training.
