Oodellaly believes that music, like most things, is most powerful when it is a collective act. Their alchemical and deeply collaborative process synthesizes influences as diverse as Irish Punk, prog, and Klezmer into the band's singular sound. The songs that emerge are angular, textural, and dynamic, sliding effortlessly between time signatures and various instrumentation. What gives them cohesion is a shared emphasis on moments of collective experience: watching the clouds over Casco Bay; a night on the town with new friends in a strange place; aging with and around people who love you. In telling these stories, Oodellaly speaks from a future of rock music that knows no bounds or binaries. Oodelally is a five-piece rock band from Portland, Maine. Angular, textural, and dynamic, they draw influence from bluegrass/fiddle tunes, Black Country New Road, prog, and Florence + The Machine. They play with harmonies and odd timings, remaining fluid and genre-bending. Featuring eclectic instrumentation (electric violin, accordion, flute, and 3 vocalists) and intriguing melodies, they envision a future of rock music that knows no bounds or binaries.
