ONYFIX® Nail Correction System Training

This hands-on training course introduces qualified nail and foot care professionals to the ONYFIX® Nail Correction System, a non-invasive and highly customizable nail correction system designed to support the gradual correction of involuted, excessively curved, and narrow toenails.

Unlike systems that rely on selecting from only a few pre-cut brace sizes, ONYFIX® can be moulded and customized directly to the individual nail. This allows the practitioner to create a precise application based on the unique shape, width, and curvature of each client’s nail.

The system works gradually as the nail grows, helping guide the nail toward a wider, more natural shape over time. ONYFIX® is not an immediate correction; rather, it works progressively with nail growth and may require ongoing applications and monitoring depending on the individual client.

Practitioners are responsible for understanding and remaining within their individual professional scope of practice, training, and applicable regulatory requirements. This course focuses on the appropriate non-invasive application of the ONYFIX® system.

ONYFIX® provides practitioners with an opportunity to add a specialized and unique service to their existing practice while reaching a more niche client population.

With New Brunswick’s aging population, foot and nail care professionals frequently encounter clients with increasingly curved, involuted, narrow, or difficult-to-manage toenails. Adding a nail correction system to your services may provide another non-invasive option for appropriate clients while expanding what you can offer within your professional scope.

From a business perspective, ONYFIX® can also offer an excellent return on investment. An ONYFIX® kit contains approximately enough product for 80 applications, depending on the amount of material required for each application, the amount used during practice, and normal product waste.

This course is intended for qualified professionals already working within the nail or foot care industry, including:

• Foot Care Nurses
• Podiatrists
• Nail Technicians
• Aestheticians working within an appropriate nail-care scope
• Other appropriately qualified foot and nail care professionals

Each participant is responsible for ensuring that ONYFIX® application falls within their individual professional scope of practice and any applicable regulatory requirements.

Please allow approximately 4 hours for the course.

The exact training time may vary depending on class size, the number of questions and discussions, and the amount of hands-on practice required. The educational presentation itself generally takes approximately 2–3 hours, followed by demonstration and hands-on application.

If we finish earlier, great! However, I recommend planning for the full four hours so that we do not have to rush through questions or practical learning.

During the course, we will cover:

• Introduction to the ONYFIX® Nail Correction System
• Understanding how the ONYFIX® system works
• Appropriate uses and client considerations
• Understanding nail curvature and gradual nail correction
• Customizing ONYFIX® to different nail shapes, widths, and curvatures
• Proper nail preparation before application
• Step-by-step ONYFIX® application
• Product handling and troubleshooting
• Practical tips for accurate and efficient applications
• Follow-up considerations and ongoing nail correction
• Incorporating ONYFIX® into your existing practice
• Hands-on application and practice
• A complete live instructor demonstration

As part of the course, I will perform a live ONYFIX® application from start to finish so participants can see the complete process and application technique in real time.

I will require one volunteer from the class to act as the model for the live demonstration. Ideally, this participant will have a bare, polish-free toenail available that is appropriate for demonstrating the application.

The live demonstration gives participants an opportunity to observe the complete process before moving into hands-on practice, ask questions throughout the demonstration, and see application techniques up close.

I also offer education on Podoexpert® professional foot care products and can incorporate this education into the training if the class is interested.

You may choose an ONYFIX®-only presentation, or I can include the Podoexpert® educational component as part of the training at the same course cost.

This is completely optional and can be determined based on the interests of the group.

This is designed to be an interactive, hands-on course, so participants are strongly encouraged to come prepared to practice on one another.

Whenever possible, please arrive with at least one bare, polish-free great toenail that can be easily exposed for practice. Having both great toenails available is even better, as this may provide additional opportunities for participants to practice their application techniques.

I completely understand that this may not always be possible, so it is not an absolute requirement. However, you will get the most out of the practical portion of the course if you are able to both perform and receive an application.

Please come prepared with:

• 70% or higher rubbing alcohol
• Cotton swabs/Q-tips
• Non-woven, low-lint or lint-free gauze/sponges
• A fully charged flashlight or appropriate examination light
• Notebook
• Pen and/or highlighter
• Water bottle
• Bare, polish-free toenail(s), whenever possible

Your certificate can then be printed, displayed in your professional space, or retained for your professional education records.

The goal of this training is not simply to watch an ONYFIX® application—it is to leave with a strong understanding of the system and practical experience using it.
